2017 has been a difficult year for the Sanctuary. In mid-March, a mother and six newborn kittens were just dropped off at the shelter, starting a year-long deviation from our original mission of an adult-only sanctuary. July and August brought us three more pregnant cats that were abandoned in our yard, eventually adding 12 more cats. And, the loss of our regular vet eliminated beneficial discounts on medical care.
I am very thankful for our generous donors and sponsors—we couldn’t do this without your ongoing support.
Our fundraising efforts were mostly successful, and I am grateful for all those who helped with them throughout the year. I am also extremely grateful to our volunteers who have showered love on our residents—but we need more help!
The extra costs related to caring for kittens in addition to the loss of our vet discount have stretched our normal skimpy budget beyond its ability to cover expenses. We are at a point that, without additional financial backing and more volunteers, we may not be able to continue our rescue efforts. Please consider giving money or time to keep the Purr-fect Companions Sanctuary doors open and our cats healthy and happy until we can find them homes.
I wish all of you and your families a joyous holiday season and a healthy and happy new year.
